THE YUGOSLAV RED CROSS HISTORY

The Montenegro Red Cross Society was estabished in 1875, and the Serbian Red Cross Society in 1876, during uprising in Bosnia-Hercigovina against Turkish terror.When the uprising started, many refugees tried to find safe haven in Dalmatia, Montenegro and Serbia. Montenegro asked the International Committee of Red Cross for a help. The Committee sent its three members to Montenegro, who interested the outstanding persons for the idea of Red Cross, and thus soon there was established the MONTENEGRO SOCIETY OF RED CROSS. Next year the SERBIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY was established
