The work with young members in the Red Cross organization is a very important task. The main goal of the Red Cross is always to involve as much young members as possible and to organize the acceptance of the first grade pupils amoung the Red Cross young members. The acceptance of the first grade pupils from all the primary schools form Subotica and the surrounding villages is organized during the Red Cross week from 8-15 May. It is a solemn occasion when the first grade pupils become the young members of the Red Cross and get the membership cards

From this large numbers of children, of course, only a minority stay activly present in the work of the Red Cross. Their engagement depends on their interest for the offered programs of the Red Cross. The number of the young members in the organization of Red Cross depends on the pedagogue (a teacher) representing the primary school.

Each primary school has ( it should have) its representative, who make the commission of the young members of the Red Cross. In the Red Cross of Subotica a young members commission is formed and the work with children is intesiv throughout the year.

The work with young members understands the following activities:
- Visiting of the primary schools with the field members (the youth of the Red Cross who are trained for the corresponding areas) and giving informative lectures about the Red Cross, hygiene, traffic and health problems.
- Involving of the young members into actions of collecting
- Participating in art and literary competitions ("Blood means life")
- Preparation of school teams for the Municipal Quiz competition "What do you know about health? What do you know about Red Cross? "
- Introducing of the young members to the work of the first aid team and forming of the young members team for the first aid for the competition
- Participation of the young members in the solemn actions and programs of Red Cross

For the next period, the forming and establishing of the club of young members of the Red Cross Subotica is planned.
