VOLUNTARY
BLOOD GIVING
Besides
the Searching Service, the voluntary blood giving is
one of he most important activities of Red Cross. The
basic task is that with the ablood Transfusion Service
of the town hospital realizes the plan and program of
gathering of the blood givers. The Yugoslav Red Cross
with the International Federation of Red Cross and red
Crescent organizes seminars for education of co-workers
for the purpose of widening the family of blood givers.
The
voluntary blood giving is based on the principles of:
VOLUNTARISM, ORGANIZATION, ANONYMITY, SOLIDARITY and
FOR FREE.

The
popularization of the voluntary blood giving is done.

Among the secondary school children when they reach
the age of 18. That is the FIRST BLOOD GIVING. The Red
Cross with the Blodd Transfusion Service go to the field
together where they deliver diplomas for the first blood
giving.
- Among university students
- In factories and other institutions
- In local communities.

Advertizing and popularizing of the voluntary blood giving,
ensuring of the advertizing material, badges and diplomas,
organizing of various seminars, educating and excursions
in this field, are the main directions of Red Cross Subotica
concerning the voluntary blood giving program. Each year
on May 11th - The Voluntary Blood Givers' Day - a formal
academy is oranized and the exhibition of children's rewarded
works on art and literary competition with a title "Blood
means Life". |
