ACTIVITIES
The
Red Cross Subotica led by good reasons, decided to realize
the years-long idea about publishing of the magazine.
This happened last year, the last one of this millenium,
at the cross of the centuries, in May - the Red Cross
month, when the Red Cross week is celebrated and the
birthday of the founder of this humanitarian movement
- Anri Didan. The month of May is also rich in important
dates from the area of health, that is why the Municipal
Organization of Red Cross, in May 1999, issued the first,
pilot issue of the magazine, which was well accepted
throughout Vojvodina.

The
one more reason why we decided to take this step is
the need to modernize the communication with people.
At the doorstep of the XXI century, when the communication
has been improved and risen to the higher level, it
necessary also to act preventively. It is our wish
that this magazine comes alive in all the areas of
our surrounding
|
After
the bidding, by the decision of the Editoring Board, the
magazine in the Serbian language is called "HM
REVIJA", and in Hungarian "HM MAGAZIN".
HM is a shortage for the MORE HUMANE MILLENIUM.
This is the only Yugoslav magazine issued by the Red Cross
dedicated to the health and social education.

In the HM revija there is also the "Red
Cross Page" where the activities of other
organizations' throughout Vojvodina are touched.The
Red Cross Magazine is issued monthly in serbian
(latin script) and in the social surrounding
language, Hungarian (Hungarian alphabet). At
the beginning, the magazine was printed on 24
pages, and now on 28 pages, in circulation of
2.000 copies.

|
Besides,
there is an addition of 12 pages printed in alphabet
for the blind, which gives the magazne a special
value, because such publications for the blind
are very few in our country. As an addition to
all this, in each issue there is an interesting
addition, depending on the topic of the issue. The
magazine is for free and is distributed to the
schools, health and social institutions, The Blind
Persons Union throughout the country and to the
individuals.
